BUILDING A DIVERSE LEADERSHIP PIPELINE
This program is a comprehensive system designed to meet one of today’s most critical diversity challenges - achieving equitable representation of minorities and women in management and executive ranks. The terminology, “building a leadership pipeline,” assumes there is an orderly process for identifying candidates and moving them along a developmental path in keeping with the business needs of an enterprise.
For many employers the terminology is all there is. The pipeline that is referred to is instead a phantom, or figment of a desired state of being.
Too many employers have sought to meet the challenges of inclusion and equity through single-tactic, quick-fix approaches.
